The mythical chicken (tian ji) is a legendary bird from ancient Chinese mythology. Feast your eyes on this adorable cloisonné enamel mythical chicken, standing tall with head held high, carrying a zun vessel on its back. Adorning its chest is a rectangular gilded plaque with inscriptions reading “Made in the Qianlong reign (1736-95)”, making it a representative example of graceful and vivid mythical chicken artifacts from that era. Collection: Palace Museum.
