An apricot flower festival has attracted over 20,000 tourists from all over the country since it kicked off on Friday at the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall in Luanping county, Chengde, North China's Hebei province.

The Jinshanling Great Wall Scenic Area, located about 120 kilometers northeast of Beijing, has seen countless apricot flowers blossom on wild apricot trees since the beginning of spring.

"While enjoying the beauty of flowers in the spring, we can appreciate the Great Wall, which is magnificent and carries history," said one of the visitors, Liu Wenjin. The 71-year-old and his family recently visited the Great Wall to admire it and the apricot blossoms.

According to the local government, the festival will last until April 21 and be accompanied by other exciting events, such as hiking and a half marathon. These events will invite tourists from around the world to experience the Great Wall's historical heritage.
