Selected as one of China’s top 10 new archaeological discoveries of 2023, the porcelain kiln site in Chencun village, Huozhou, Shanxi province excavated eight scattered sites, with nine kilns, 40 ash pits, nine workshops, two ditches, one well and numerous porcelain shards unearthed.
Dating back to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), the Huozhou kilns site showcases the pinnacle of white porcelain technology in northern China, offering groundbreaking insights into ceramic production and firing techniques spanning from the 10th to the early 20th century.
