The 37th International Kite Festival in Berck-sur-Mer will be highlighted by displays of Weifang kite-making skills, a 100-meter-long kite flying demonstration and the inaugural World Kite Cup Berck-sur-Mer.
To kick off the festival on April 20, a 100-meter-long dragon kite will take flight, followed by a series of activities including dragon and lion dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, a tea ceremony, calligraphy exhibitions and traditional Chinese folk music performances.
For thrill-seekers, the festival will offer competitive kite-flying events, such as two-line and four-line kite-flying competitions, as well as team competitions.
