Flower Hill Festival of the Miao ethnic group is usually held in the first month or the early period of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. During the festival, Miao people gather in traditional attire at a designated dancing ground, where young men and women dance around a flower pole in the center of the field. There are also competitions such as flower pole climbing, horse racing, archery, singing, dancing, beauty pageants, and embroidery.
