On Feb 29, after seven days of activities commemorating the martyrs (Dapeng Qingjiao) in Dapeng New Area, Shenzhen, Guangdong province, the final day's feast shared by thousands of people - the "General's Feast" – came about.
The "General's Feast", as the name suggests, was originally a banquet hosted by a general. It was held during festivals or after victorious battles; the general would host a feast for the entire city's soldiers and people to celebrate together, hence its name. It has since evolved into a part of the Dapeng Qingjiao, continuing the tradition of city-wide celebration and becoming a large traditional banquet unique to Dapeng New Area.
