Xia Hua, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, aims to move ethnic handicrafts from regions like Guizhou, a mountainous province in Southwest China, onto the global stage.
With over 20 years of experience exploring Guizhou's cultures, Xia recognizes the importance of its handicrafts. She said these crafts, passed down through generations, carry within them not just skill and artistry but also the stories and traditions of the diverse ethnic groups.
In an interview with China Daily website, Xia emphasized the global value of ethnic and local culture. She said she wants to showcase its products worldwide, attracting more people to appreciate the province's heritage.
