On Feb 19, the Shaba village in Guizhou’s Tongren was awakened by lively drum and cymbal beats, part of a splendid Tujia ethnic Nuotang Opera performance. It resembled a living canvas and preserved the ancient and primitive cultural phenomenon.
Nuotang Opera is one of Guizhou's four cultural forms related to Nuo, an enigmatic cultural element.
