The dance drama Eastern Immortal Prophecy centers on a precious brocade armband unearthed in Xinjiang, depicting an epic friendship and unity among ethnic groups more than 2,000 years ago.
The armband was excavated from the Niya ruins in Hotan, and is datable to the period between Eastern Han (25- 220) and Western Jin (265-316). It was embroidered with the words “Five stars rise in the east, indicating victory for China”.
