Xu Weili (1202-54) was an influential official in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) who witnessed significant social evolvement during his over 30-year career. The Museum of Wu in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, is hosting a special exhibition based on his life that features more than 200 cultural relics from the period.
Apart from the national treasure Document of Xu Weili, which records his official titles, the exhibition also displays ceramics, jade ware, gold and silver ware, and silk textiles, providing a chance to delve into the Southern Song society experienced by Xu.
