Zheng Xie (1693-1766), also known as Zheng Banqiao, stood as a preeminent figure in the Chinese art sphere during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). He was also acclaimed as the most influential artist among the “Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou”.
As this year coincides with the 330th anniversary of Zheng’s birth, the Yangzhou Museum launched a special exhibition on Nov 21, comprehensively presenting his life experiences, achievements in poetry, calligraphy and painting, and his moral virtues through more than 100 cultural relics.
