Ancient Huizhou architecture, tracing its origin to the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), integrates aspects of residence, aesthetics and practicality into a cohesive entity. An exhibition shedding light on this magnificent treasure of China’s cultural legacy was unveiled on Nov 24 at the China (Hainan) Museum of The South China Sea. Carvings of wood, brick, and stone unfurl the architectural artistry of Huizhou.
