Step into the passionate world of Flamenco! On the evening of Nov 9, the dance drama Carmen graced the stage at the Hainan Song and Dance Theater in Haikou, capital of Hainan province. With the famous Carmen Overture, the actors, adorned in swirling skirts and tapping heels, transported the audience to the intense embrace of Flamenco.
Adapted from Bizet's opera, this performance beautifully depicted the poignant love story between the gypsy Carmen, soldier Don Jose, and bullfighter Escamillo.
