On Nov 10, a commemorative concert, marking a special anniversary of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s 1973 China Tour, graced the stage at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. The concert, featuring the China National Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra, showcased Bernstein's Candide Overture, Reflections of the Moon on Erquan, and Beethoven's Symphony No 5.
In 1973, the Philadelphia Orchestra made history as the first US symphony orchestra to visit China. This musical milestone was an unforgettable experience!
