A complete black bear skeleton was discovered in Henan during an excavation at the Xiazhai archaeological site in Xichuan county, Nanyang, Henan. The skeleton was found in H380 ash pit, dating back to the late years of Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC). It is the earliest-dated complete bear skeleton to be discovered at an archaeological site in China.
