The 10th Xiamen-Kinmen Cross-Strait Swimming Race will kick off in Xiamen, Fujian province on June 15.

Competitors from across China will be divided into groups of two for a relay race covering a distance of seven kilometers between Xiamen and Shuangkou village in Kinmen.

Launched in 2009, the cross-Strait swimming competition takes place every year, with Xiamen and Kinmen alternating as the race's starting point. It has become a key way to promote person-to-person exchanges between individuals from across the Strait.
