Bajiquan is a traditional martial art. It was created 300 years ago in the town of Mengcun, in what is now Mengcun Hui autonomous county, Hebei province. In 2008, Bajiquan was inscribed into the second list of the National Intangible Cultural Heritages. It features simple moves, the combination of short-and-long range explosive power, powerful elbow strikes, punches, hip checks, and strikes with the shoulder and repeated use of elbow methods, with the feet firmly planted on the ground.
