The No 3 ancient city at the Yueyang city site in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, was proved to be the capital during the Qin (221-206 BC) and Western Han (206 BC-AD 24) dynasties through archaeological excavation. In 2022, two pieces of architecture were unearthed at the No 3 ancient city, which showcase the layout of the core architecture in the capital city at that time. The earliest capital axis was also discovered in the ancient city.
