From July to September, 2022, archaeologists discovered and cleared 16 Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC) tombs at the Xiwubi site in Jiangxian county, Shanxi province. The tombs were divided into large, medium and small levels according to their size and burial objects. It fills the gap of Shang Dynasty tomb excavations of late Erligang Culture in southern Shanxi, providing precious materials for research on funeral rites at that time.
