The Gui Opera "Splashing Water in Front of a Horse" draws inspiration from an ancient Chinese proverb that what is done cannot be undone. The newly adapted drama tells the bittersweet love story of a couple. It is designed to help the public better grasp the vicissitudes of human life and have a positive attitude toward either poverty or wealth. People are expected to find themselves in the opera.

Awards: The opera "Splashing Water in Front of a Horse" became an entry in the final competition of the 30th Plum Performance Award of Chinese Opera in 2021. Wu Siting, a State-level first-class actress with the Guilin Opera Research Institute, brought back the award for her outstanding performance in the drama.
