The Palace Museum signed an agreement with the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe on March 13 where they will conduct a series of cooperations on academic research, playwriting and cultural transmission. Excerpts of the classic Kunqu Opera pieces The Palace of Eternal Life and Peony Pavilion were performed at the signing ceremony.
The Palace Museum keeps a rich collection of the relics of traditional Chinese operas, providing precious material for the study of ancient Chinese performing arts.
