At the foot of the Helan Mountains in Northwest China’s Ningxia Hui autonomous region, the Western Xia mausoleums are royal mausoleums dating back to the Tangut Western Xia Empire (1038-1227). In winter, the mausoleums are bathed in warm sunlight, with ever-changing clouds in the sky.
