Based on the work of Russian playwright Anton Chekhov (1860-1904), the drama The Cherry Orchard will take to the stage of Hangzhou Grand Theater on Dec 6 and 7. A big hit at this year’s Wuzhen Theater Festival, the story starts with an aristocratic woman who returns to her family estate just before it is auctioned to pay the mortgage.
