Exhibition curator Kang Li came up with the idea when she was invited to give a course at the Central Conservatory of Music, a collaboration between the two schools. She says in class they discussed the meaning of curating exhibitions and the similarities of the art of sound, dance and visual arts.
The exhibition examines the possibilities of enriching the presentations of instrumental music with the aid of experimental art, artificial intelligence and other forms of new technology. The exhibition is the first of a project at CAFA to showcase curatorial ideas of young teachers. Four performers from the Central Conservatory of Music held a concert at the opening ceremony.
