Sanya, popular tourist destination for National Day holiday

Since Sanya lifted its citywide temporary static management on Sept 15, the search volume and booking volume of air tickets to the city on tourism platforms surged. As a result, Sanya is a popular tourist destination for the upcoming National Day holiday.

Qunar platform data shows that during the National Day holiday, the number of domestic airline ticket bookings to Sanya and the average price paid increased significantly, with the number of bookings doubling compared with the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.

Qunar big data shows that the search volume for Sanya's train tickets peaked when the city lifted static management. From 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Aug 15, the search volume of Sanya's train tickets skyrocketed 16-fold. The search volume for air tickets increased by 70 percent compared with the same period on the previous day.

With the improvement of the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control situation, as well as the approaching of the National Day holiday, hotels and scenic spots in Hainan province have resumed business, with a number of preferential products launched to facilitate the recovery of the province's tourism industry.

The top five popular scenic spots in Hainan province during the National Day holiday are Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, Sanya Zaolang Wake Surfing Club, Wanning Shimei Bay Tianjing Helicopter Flight Camp, Sanya Haitang Bay Tahe Skydiving Base, and Leiqiong Global Geopark. "Close to nature" and "in-depth experience" were the popular preferences for tourists during this year's National Day holiday.

According to the city's COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control requirements, passengers entering train stations and boarding trains must hold a nucleic acid negative certificate taken within 48 hours of their trip from Sept 10 to Oct 31.
