Wang Yuanyuan
王媛媛
Wang Yuanyuan graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy in 1995. She later obtained a master's degree in dance at the California Institute of the Arts. Winning awards in many choreography competitions at home and abroad, Wang has been invited to work with many famed art troupes such as the National Ballet of China and the Royal Danish Ballet. She also collaborated with Zhang Yimou in the ballet Raise the Red Lantern and choreographed the dances for Feng Xiaogang in the movie The Banquet. In 2008, she co-founded the Beijing Contemporary Ballet with stage artists from different fields such as Han Jiang and Tan Shaoyuan.
Wang is also the first Chinese artist to gain the best choreography award in international competitions four times.
