Brilliant! Under the baton of famed conductor Yu Long, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra held a concert at the Qintai Concert Hall in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Sept 14. The audience was treated to the erhu concerto La Joie de la Souffrance composed by Chen Qigang, the orchestral overture Metropolis composed by Zhou Tian, and two popular pieces by Edward Elgar.
This year also marks the 65th anniversary of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.
