Produced by Gansu Drama Theater, the original work Babusha was staged in Lanzhou on Sept 8. The drama is based on the real story of six farmers who devoted themselves to fighting desertification in their hometown in the central Gansu province in the 1980s. It will compete for the Wenhua Award for the theater arts this year.
