Over the past decades, Guo Yonghu has dedicated himself to the inheritance and development of Shouyang bamboo horse performance, a traditional theatrical dance that uses horse-shaped props.
The Shouyang bamboo horse show, which originated in Guojiagou village in Shouyang county of Shanxi province, has a history of around 700 years and is popular in the county.
The performance mainly consists of actors wearing face makeup and stage costumes using horse-shaped props, stilts and acrobatic fight action.
