The Kunqu Opera Romance of the Western Chamber will greet audiences at the Jixiang Grand Theater in Beijing on Aug 28. A production of the Northern Kunqu Opera Theater, it is based on the drama by Wang Shifu (1250-1337) that tells a love story set in the Tang Dynasty between Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying.
