Guangzhou dominates high-tech industry

The 2022 Top 100 High-Quality Development Zones List was released on Aug 10, and Guangzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone ranked 5th and Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone ranked 8th.

A total of 53 national-level high-tech industrial development zones and 47 economic and technological development zones made the list.

By 2021, there were 169 national-level high-tech industrial development zones and 230 economic and technological development zones. 

The 2022 high-quality development index system for evaluating the zones has five first-level indicators and 24 second-level indicators.

In addition, among the 2022 top 100 high-quality development zones, there are 74 economic functional zones and 26 integrated political districts, including Guangzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone.
