Lin Fan is one of the founders of the Society of Chinese Gongbi Style Painting.
An exhibition through July 26 at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing pays tribute to his accomplishments in promoting the long-standing gongbi-style of classic Chinese painting.
On show are more than 120 pieces from his outputs of gongbi paintings and calligraphy. In his work, Lin presents a comparison between the real and the abstract, as well as a sense of rhythm and forces.
