Based on the life story of the great composer Xian Xinghai (1905-45), the eponymous dance drama will be staged at the National Center for the Performing Arts on July 26 to 28. The production also sheds light on the spirit of the era Xian lived in.
Xian Xinghai is praised as the “people’s musician” whose Yellow River Cantata has inspired many generations.
