Chinese actor and director Lan Tianye (1927-2022), whose career spanned more than seven decades, passed away in Beijing at age 95 on June 9. A household name in China, Lan was known for his many roles in movies, television and the theater. He has performed in more than 100 plays, which cements his reputation as a legend in the Chinese theater scene.
