Centuries-old tree blooms in Hangzhou

A 300-year-old catalpa bungei, a living fossil in the plant kingdom, is blooming at Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. In April and May, the tree produces flowers with a vibrant pinkish purple color, forming an intoxicating scene.
