Zhang Changyong is the fifth generation inheritor of Taishan sugar painting in Dongping county, Tai'an, Shandong province.

Taishan sugar painting was approved as a provincial intangible cultural heritage item in November 2021.

Taishan sugar painting, also commonly known as "pour sugar person", can be eaten the same as sugar and appreciated as a traditional folk handicraft.
