The album Songs of the Naxi of Southwest China was released by Smithsonian Folkways Recordings on March 12. It features 20 folk songs, of the Naxi ethnic group inhabiting Yunnan province. It is available on major music websites.
The famed Naxi singer He Jinhua performed all the songs in the album, two of them in collaboration with Daniel Ho, a Grammy Award-winning composer.
