Based on the life story of ideologist Gu Yanwu (1613-82), the eponymous Kunqu Opera was staged at the Tianqiao Theater on Jan 19. It was an important feature of the Suzhou Arts and Culture Week in Beijing, adding charm to the ongoing 22nd Meet in Beijing International Arts Festival.
