The tiger symbolizes bravery and power in Chinese culture, as well as in Japan. To celebrate the upcoming Year of the Tiger and the 50th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japan diplomatic relations, the Shanghai Museum is holding an exhibit showing eight tiger-themed works of art from its permanent collection and that of the Kyushu National Museum of Japan. Meanwhile, another four paintings are presented in digital form available to view at the museum.
