A recent version of drama Sunrise, the masterpiece of the celebrated playwright Cao Yu (1910-96), will be staged at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on April 22 and 23. Topbilled by famed modern dancer Jin Xing as the heroine Chen Bailu, the drama illustrates the social conflicts in China during the 1930s.
