Calling all aficionados of traditional Chinese music! Feng Mantian will perform at a recital at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center on March 12. Besides a repertoire infusing different styles and improvisations, the event will be an all-black auditory feast.
Over the past three decades, Feng has dedicated himself to performing and promoting the zhongruan, a Chinese plucked-string instrument with a history of more than 2,000 years. He plays jazz, rock and roll and the blues with it.
