Wind Sweeps over the Earth, an exhibition held at the National Art Museum of China until Jan 3, shows more than 100 oil paintings Wang Jianguo, a painter in Changchun, Jilin province, created over the last two years.
The works celebrate the extensive scenery of Northeast China and the dynamic life led by local people, evoking a nostalgic feeling among audiences and reflecting on people's changing mentality under rapid urbanization.
Wang is a leading figure in exploring the xieyi style from classical Chinese paintings in oil works. By doing so he has rendered his productions with distinctive Eastern aesthetics.
