A bullet train painted with a Bashu culture-themed design was officially put into operation on Thursday in Chengdu, capital of Northwest China's Sichuan province. Bashu refers to an area that mainly covers today's Sichuan province and Chongqing municipality. The train is decorated with images of cultural elements such as giant pandas, gaiwan tea, Sichuan opera facial makeup, sun god bird, and Sanxingdui masks.
