Have you ever heard of Bai Juyi, a famed poet and an official in the middle Tang Dynasty (618-907)? It would be a great chance to know more about him and the glorious culture of that era by watching the musical Song of the Pipa, presented at the Xi’an People’s Theater in Shaanxi province on Dec 11!
Based on the life story of Bai, the musical title is adapted from Bai’s famous poem. It features wonderful performances using traditional Chinese instruments, including pipa, guqin, erhu and xun.
