As the last of several new versions of three classic plays by Cao Yu (1910-96), the drama The Wilderness debuted on Nov 30 to close the opening celebration of the new Beijing International Theater Center of the Beijing People's Art Theater. It adopted a new perspective to present the revenge story of the 1930s that is depicted in the original work.
