The only female emperor in feudal China, Wu Zetian (r. 690-705) left a legendary impression on history. An eponymous drama based on Wu’s life story will be restaged at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center on Jan 19 and 20, starring renowned actress Liu Xiaoqing, who played Wu on several TV series.
