Discovered in Ducheng village in the southern suburbs of Xi'an city, Shaanxi province, in 1973, the left half of a bronze two-piece tiger-shaped tally from the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) is the one of the most precious treasures of the Shaanxi History Museum.
It is a sign to be used by the authorized power that governs the village to deploy the troops of the Qin State (770-207 BC), reflecting its highly centralized military leadership.
