In 1975, over a thousand inscribed bamboo slips were discovered by archaeologists in 12 Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC)tombs in Shuihudi, Yunmeng county, Hubei province.
With a writing system that is still recognizable today, they record ancient China's medical achievements, law making, and bureaucratic establishment from more than 2,000 years ago.Selected pieces are on display in the permanent exhibition of the Hubei Provincial Museum.
