Dunhuang art is always inspirational. Digital reproductive technologies have made it possible for visitors in Chongqing to admire the art in modern galleries with greater lighting conditions some 2,000 kilometers away from the caves. A show at the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum until Aug 15 displays mural replications depicting sutra stories, Buddha statues, flying apsaras and caissons from the Mogao Caves and Yulin Caves.
