The Qingdao West Coast New Area has launched a slew of measures to facilitate the development of the local film and TV industry as film studios reopen and crews resume work after several weeks of suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Every key film and television industrial park will be eligible to receive a subsidy of up to 10 million yuan ($1.42 million), and crews will be eligible for subsidies of up to 1 million yuan.
The area is also providing fiscal, taxation, and financial support, rent reductions, and living allowances for crews and related enterprises to help them weather the current crisis.
The area will also provide subsidies for key film and television industrial parks that reduce or waive rents for photo studios.
